Renewing Smart Meter Consent – Frequently Asked Questions

1.How long does my consent last?

Your consent for QGEMS to access your smart meter data lasts for two years.

Before your consent expires, we'll send you an email to let you know that you need to provide consent again if you'd like QGEMS to continue accessing your smart meter data.

2. What happens when my consent is due to expire?

We'll contact you by email before your consent expires and let you know that you need to renew it.

To continue using QGEMS and allow us to access your smart meter data, you'll need to complete the consent process again.

3. Why do I need to give consent again?

Your consent to QGEMS accessing your smart meter data is valid for two years. After this period, we need you to confirm that you're still happy for us to access your data.

This ensures that you remain in control of who has access to your smart meter information.

4. What happens if I don't renew my consent?

If you don't provide consent again before your existing consent expires, QGEMS will no longer be able to access your smart meter data.

As smart meter data is required for most QGEMS features, this will also affect your ability to continue using the QGEMS app.

You can provide consent again in the future if you'd like to reconnect.
