Smart Meter Addendum
Effective Date: 22 November 2024
This Agreement is for customers who authorize QGEMS to access and use their Smart Meter data for tailored reporting and energy management services.
IMPORTANT: This authorization is specific to Smart Meter data access and applies only to consenting customers. It supplements QGEMS general Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions.
1. Purpose of Smart Meter Data Collection
By consenting to this Agreement, you allow QGEMS to access, collect, and process data directly from your property’s Smart Meter. This data will be used for:

Energy Management Services: Providing insights and recommendations on energy efficiency and optimization.

Detailed Reporting: Delivering tailored reports on energy consumption patterns, usage trends, and generation.

Enhanced Service Functionality: Improving and personalizing energy services based on precise consumption data.
2. Data Collected
The Smart Meter data collected may include:

Usage Data: Information on energy consumption patterns, peak usage times, and load profile.

Export Data: If applicable, data on the surplus energy exported to the grid (e.g., from solar or other renewable sources).

Meter Technical Data: Details on the meter’s functionality, connection status, and any relevant device identifiers.
This data is treated with the same level of security and care as described in our Privacy Policy and is stored securely within the UK.
Smart Meter data is collected at 30-minute intervals.
3. Legal Basis for Processing
We rely on explicit consent from you, the customer, to access and process this Smart Meter data. 4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
Your Smart Meter data will be shared only with:

QGEMS employees and authorized service providers directly involved in providing the energy management and reporting services specified in this Agreement.

Regulatory and Legal Authorities, if required by law or regulatory compliance.

n3rgy data service ( https://n3rgy.com ) is used by QGEMS ENERGY LTD to interface with the national smart meter systems in order to collect, store, manage and share with QGEMS ENERGY LTD Smart Meter data. This service uses the Smart Energy Code (https://smartenergycodecompany.co.uk/) Party credentials and Party ID of N3RGY DATA LIMITED, incorporated and registered in England and Wales with the company number 11712674 whose registered office is at Prennau House Copse Walk, Pontprennau, Cardiff, Wales, CF23 8XH.
QGEMS will not share this data with other third parties without further, specific consent.
5. Data Retention and Security
We retain Smart Meter data only as long as necessary for providing the agreed-upon services or as required by law. Data is stored securely within the UK, and we employ robust encryption and access controls to protect it.
Consent is given for a period of 2 years, after which consent will automatically be withdrawn and need to be given again before data collection resumes.
6. Your Rights
As a customer, you retain full rights over your Smart Meter data as per UK GDPR, including:

Right to Access: Request a copy of your data.

Right to Rectification: Correct any inaccuracies in the data.

Right to Withdraw Consent: Revoke your authorization at any time via the QGEMS Consent Web Application, or using the contact Information in this document.

Right to Deletion: Request deletion of your Smart Meter data where it’s no longer necessary for service delivery or compliance.
